De Oscars 2016
De Oscars 2016 vonden ook dit jaar plaats in Los Angeles. NWTV hield de winnaars en bijzondere momenten bij. De focus lag natuurlijk op Leonardo DiCaprio. Want eindelijk wist hij het prestigieuze gouden beeldje te bemachtigen. Ook was er veel belangstelling voor Chris Rock als gastheer dit jaar. Hoewel de boodschap van diversiteit er nogal dik bovenop lag, deed hij uitstekend.
De verassende winnaar van de avond was toch wel Mad Max: Fury Road. De film over een post-apocalyptisch Australië ging naar huis met wel zes Oscars.
Redacteuren Aloys en Jeffrey durfden het aan om hun voorspellingen prijs te geven. Volgens Aloys zou The Revenant de grote winnaar van vanavond worden. Jeffrey voorspelde dat The Big Short de Beste Film van 2016 werd. Spotlight ging uiteindelijk met de award voor Beste Film naar huis, Aloys had elf van de veertien voorspellingen correct en Jeffrey zes van de twaalf.
